There are currently four playable regions in Anno 2205: Temperate, arctic, lunar and tundra. Each region has various population tiers with their own unique satisfaction requirements. The temperate sectors have four tiers while arctic, lunar and tundra sectors have two. The population of each region upgrades through the various tiers by means of ascension.

Higher level population still require the satisfaction of all the lower tier needs. However it should be noted that unlike in previous Anno games a shortage of goods from lower tiers will not make higher level population angry as long as they have their current tier needs satisfied. For example a shortage of Vitamin Drinks will not anger the executive population as long as at least one of the executive needs are satisfied.

Located in the temperate region, this is where most of a corporation's income comes from. See also Temperate.

Temperate sectors have two types of housing. Residences and the larger and slightly more efficient Residential Complexes.

Synthetics[]

Synthetics use the same tier 4 needs as the investors, but do not need the first 3 tiers of goods (e.g. organic foods, vitamin juice).

This frees the resource demands for the complex substantially, allowing them to be used in other buildings. Synthetics also provide a huge amount of workforce. The downside of synthetics is that they do not generate revenue.

Only complexes in temperate region can be upgraded to synthetics. Small residences cannot be upgraded to house synthetics.

The housing style in the arctic is an Arctic Dwelling.

Promotion[]

Once a housing unit has reached fully satisfied with all it's needs, it will have the option to Promote to the next tier of population for it's respective region. Only a certain percentage of tier 1 housing units can be promoted to tier 2, and same goes for later tiers.

When a Residence is ready to advance a green arrow is displayed over the housing unit as well as within the panel when you click the housing unit. Manual upgrading is the default setting in Anno 2205, There is however an option to put it on automatic by clicking the icon of 2 people below the mini-map and then ticking the "Enable automatic promotion", at which point housing units will upgrade at a natural pace.

The following criteria must be met in order to enable advancement to the next tier:

  • All the Needs are 100% met
  • Sector-wide population alowing room for advancement, also known as Promotion rights
  • Upgrade materials available

Promotions rights are the following:

  • For Arctic, Moon and Tundra, 70% of Tier 1 houses can be promoted to Tier 2. If you fully upgrade 100 houses you can get 30 T1 / 70 T2.
  • For Temperate sectors, 70% of Tier 1 Workers can be promoted to Tier 2 Operators, of which 57% can be promoted to Executive, of which 37.5% can reach Investors and 33,3% reach Synthetics (difficulty-independant). If you fully upgrade 1000 houses you can get 300 T1 / 300 T2 / 250 T3 / 100 T4 / 50 T5. The trading floor building grants extra promotion rights, allowing to upgrade all houses to Investors or Synthetics.
