Anno 2205 Wikia

Looks like I need some sort of admin privileges to touch the front page, which is totally understandable. I would like to grab some screencaps for the navigation buttons (currently blank) to get our front page looking as awesome as 2205 itself. Check out my work on the achievements page if you want to verify that I’m not a vandal or troll or anything.

Thank you very much,

Anno Addict since 1999

The new main page looks fantastic. It's much easier to navigate as well! That stuff was way over my paygrade, so great work to everyone who put time in on it. Kallah (talk) 21:39, November 9, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! I will continue to improve it eventually. For now my goal was to make it as streamlined and organized as possible :) Hahc21 (talk) 22:35, November 9, 2015 (UTC)

Question about main page navigation and categories.[]

I noticed there’s some discrepancies in the categories used to organize pages, and the front page navigation is a great way to show them, and perhaps consolidate them.

Regions -> Temperate | Arctic | Tundra | Orbital |  Moon

These appear to follow the in-game breakdown of the game regions, and sets a fantastic example for the other categories. Would it be possible to change them to:

Regions -> Temperate | Arctic |  Moon | Tundra | Orbital

Resources-> Temperate | Arctic |  Moon | Tundra | Orbital

Buildings-> Temperate | Arctic |  Moon | Tundra | Orbital

This way the navigation is constant and follows the in-game terminology, making it easier for folks to find what they’re looking for. I realize this means that nearly 100 pages would have to have their existing category tags (Resources -> Earth Resources) removed and replaced with the more accurate ones (Resources -> Temperate Resources). I happily volunteer to remove the old tags and replace them with updated ones if this suggestion is carried out, however, I do not currently have the ability to remove category tags, only add them.

Let me know if this is something you think would be a positive change and I’ll get started as soon as I have the ability to remove category flags. Kallah (talk) 16:55, November 14, 2015 (UTC)

I think that we need to try and reduce redundancies. I am thinking about a better way to redesign the gameplay section of the navigation but have yet to come with a fine solution. I'll think about it this weekend. --Hahc21 (talk) 07:46, November 15, 2015 (UTC)
I created Earth category because that is what I got from their official website. If you want to start changing categories, just go into the Classical Editor and delete Earth (buildings, etc.) and put Temperate (insert).SHIELDAgent154 (talk) 21:39, November 18, 2015 (UTC)

Color scheme for headings?[]

I have hard time viewing the page titles due to the color used. I’m not sure if it’s something on my end (I’m viewing the page in Chrome, running Windows 7) or if it displays this way for everyone. I think it’s just an unfortunate combination of text color and the part of the background image it winds up in front of.

Anno wiki header color

"Space Station" is almost impossible to see there. The same goes for these text entry areas. The dark text color in front of the dark background makes it hard to see what you’re typing until you preview it.

I agree. Please change it to what the viewers would like, but I would like to see it before you implement it to all the headers. --SHIELDAgent154 (talk) 22:51, November 16, 2015 (UTC)

I'll see what it looks like in (default) Firefox and Internet Explorer as well and then see what color would play nice in all three, given the background image (which is really awesome). Kallah (talk) 22:53, November 16, 2015 (UTC)

So if it's something in my settings, it's something I managed to change in Firefox and IE as well, which seems unlikely. Plain old black should work on the lighter colored background, or maybe a nice darker, gray-blue to stick with the theme? Any darker color should work in all three. Kallah (talk) 21:41, November 18, 2015 (UTC)

I already did this change in my personal css file. I also removed the background transparency because Chrome was having issues with it. To change the title color just search for this text in the MediaWiki:Wikia.css page:

.WikiaPageHeader h1 {
color: #2b2b2b !important;
}

.WikiaPageHeader h1:hover {
color: #2b2b2b !important;
text-decoration: none;
}

The code above makes the title look black-ish instead of light grey. Cheers. --Hahc21 (talk) 22:46, November 18, 2015 (UTC)

I tried the code. Not sure if I did it correctly, but I did write the change. --SHIELDAgent154 (talk) 01:45, December 17, 2015 (UTC)

The entire page is shifted.[]

The page is shifted, like someone put another wrapper in the wrong spot and now all the page info is shifted to the left so far that no one can read the page without using a scroll bar to move the content to the center of their screens.

Whoever is in charge needs to update the page with the correction, as well as removing the extra set of "|}" at the end of the content. These kinds of errors make the page less useful and will eventually cause users to abandon using this page.
